All about Chautauquas!

JL Collins started the Chautauqua events in Ecuador back in 2013 and the Donegans picked up the mantle and ran them from 2017 onwards. 

We organised the event so that he could have cool conversations in cool locations with cool people!  You don't always get that in daily life and that vision of what Chautauqua is has driven how they have been built ever since.  

What makes a Chautauqua special?
  • Small numbers: we limit attendee numbers to below 30 for each event so that we can all get to know each other.  The bloggers and speakers want to get have a meaningful conversation with everyone who attends the event and that's not possible if there are too many people
  • ​Diversity: people from all over the globe, all backgrounds, all ages gather together with a set of common beliefs and values to discuss what is truly important. Chautauqua attracts such a diverse group from around the world
  • Supporting each other: what always surprises people is how generous and supportive the FIRE community is and to be surrounded for a week by a bunch of like-minded people all cheering you on to success (whatever that means to you) is amazing

Speakers

JL Collins, Millennial Revolution (Kirsty and Bryce) and Alan Donegan from Rebel Business School will be at both weeks in 2022.  Doc G will be at week 1 and Ken from Humble Penny will be at week 2.
