What is this all about?What is this event all about?
JL Collins came up with the idea about 6 years ago wanting to put on events that would bring together groups of exceptional people in amazing locations for fascinating conversations about life, freedom, happiness and investing. What is a Chautauqua? We call it a Chautauqua, an old Native American word Robert M. Pirsig, the author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, translates loosely as: “…an old-time series of popular talks intended to edify and entertain, improve the mind and bring culture and enlightenment to the ears and thoughts of the hearer" When you shouldn't come Mr Money Mustache came to a lot of Chautauqua events in Ecuador and wrote "if you are in debt or otherwise struggling, a trip like this will not solve your problems!" If you are in debt or at the very start of your FI journey this event is probably not for you. What will actually happen?We are running two one week Chautauquas in Northern Greece this year where we will have talks on FIRE, happiness and investing. Come and spend a week hanging out with these amazing bloggers and podcasters:
Week 1 - 13th to 20th October 2018: JL Collins, Millennial Revolution, Mr1500 and Alan Donegan. Week 2 - 20th to 27th October 2018: JL Collins, Millennial Revolution, ChooseFI and Alan Donegan. On the Saturday we will meet you at Thessaloniki Airport (your ticket doesn't include flights) and we will all gather at a hotel in Thessaloniki. We will settle in with some Greek food and time to meet everyone! On the Sunday after a look around Thessaloniki (the second largest city in Greece) we will travel together to Cavo Olympo near Litochoro where you will experience a week of FI talks, amazing food and some fun experiences all whilst looking out over the Aegean Sea. A week later on the way back to airport, if your flight time allows you can explore some more of Thessaloniki. Maybe a trip around the harbour and a last Greek meal before heading back home!
